Barcelona now makes you feel brighter. Without too many tourists, without company, without traffic, without the excessive hustle and bustle in the environment. But what stands out the most is the pure air, the warm sun during the day and much of the year, the quiet nights, the royal European ritual, the striking corners of the city, the mixture of cultures that can be found in the different neighbourhoods, the various beaches within Barcelona with more than 4 kilometres of Coastline, its incredible views, the spectacular architecture, the local gastronomy, the commercial atmosphere and finally the Mediterranean character.
It is the perfect time to visit the most famous places in the city, a visit to Antoni Gaudí’s Parc Güell without waiting for crowds of people. This park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984. The interior of the Sagrada Familia is incredible, it is not finished yet since construction began in 1882 and it is expected to be completed in 2026. This Cathedral from the 20th century is also built by Antoni Gaudí.
There are also no crowds in the Cathedral of the Santa Cruz and Santa Eulalia in Barcelona. Both are in the Gothic Quarter, which is now like never before. Take advantage and enjoy the overwhelming medieval atmosphere of the Gothic Quarter and its spectacular streets.
The same is happening in El Paseo de Gracia, On La Rambla and the Sant Josep or La Boqueria Market, in the Plaza Real, Monjuïc, El Pueblo Español, Plaza Cataluña, El Gran Teatro del Liceo, El Monasterio de Pedralbes, La Church of Mount Tibidabo, La Basílica de Santa María del Mar, The Palace of Music, the different Museums of the City, such as the Picasso Museum, National Art Museum of Catalonia, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of History of Barcelona, Foundation Joan Miró, Cosmocaixa Science Museum, among others.
If what you prefer is to go shopping in Barcelona, this is the right time, because the streets are not crowded with people, and the same happens inside the stores. Shopping centres are the right time to enjoy shopping.
The main shopping area of Barcelona can be found around Plaza Cataluña, in the center of the city. The most recommended streets are La Rambla, Portal de l’Angel, Paseo de Gracia and Rambla de Cataluña. Besides these areas there are big shopping centers located at Las Arenas, Diagonal Mar, Maremagnum, Glòries, La Maquinista, Gran via 2 and L´Illa Diagonal.
So take advantage of these moments and enjoy the authentic Barcelona in its greatest splendour.
Now please tell me, have you fallen in love here?
