Such high standing was also reflected by the Association for Tourism Costa Brava-Girona at the beginning of the year, when mention was made on a report published by the Government of Catalonia which confirmed that Girona had exceeded the 5 million milestone for the number of tourists in 2016. This figure represents an increase of 4.6% with regard to the previous year. It also highlighted that tourists from Germany, France and the UK kept being the most inclined to spending their holidays at Costa Brava. It confirms that the region of Girona is an attractive tourist destination, both for the national market and overseas.
And this comes as no surprise since the gastronomy, the wine tourism, the nature, the adventure tourism, the culture and the history, make Costa Brava an ideal destination to enjoy a dream holiday.
