First, visit Plaça Espanya and Montjuïc mountain. Discover the works from the Universal Exposition of 1929 and the Olympic games of 1992 as you make your way up the mountain. Stop at the Mirador de l'Alcalde, a beautiful terrace with wonderful views of Barcelona’s iconic skyline offering fantastic photo opportunities.
After taking in the views of Barcelona from the Mirador, head down the mountain to visit the beautiful seafront of the city before heading to the Gothic Quarter. Visit the Old town with a relaxed walking tour, as this is the best way to discover this area without missing any of its secrets. Wander through its quaint little back streets to find the hidden imprints left by the Roman and medieval city in this world-famous neighborhood.
Afterwards, head to Plaça Catalunya, the center of the city, before following the Passeig de Gràcia avenue to discover the main examples of Catalan architecture. Here, discover the works of Domenech i Muntaner, Puig i Cadafalch, and Antoni Gaudí, the three main architects representing the Modernist style of building. Take a moment to admire the striking features of their works, including Gaudi’s Casa Batlló and La Pedrera as well as Casa Ametller and Casa Lleo Morera.
Next, follow the footsteps of Gaudí and explore the Eixample district. This district was designed by the urban planner Ildefons Cerdà as an expansion of the Old Town. In the Eixample, find the main highlight of this tour, Gaudí’s crowning achievement, La Sagrada Familia.
Discover the many examples of religious symbolism hidden in its façades. Gaudí’s incredible and organic architectural style will leave you breathless. This tour includes skip-the-line access to Sagrada Familia, so you will be able to avoid the long queues and take in the impressive interior of the basilica.
