Points of interest

  • PASSEIG DE GRÀCIA:
The most luxurious avenue of Barcelona and home to the city's most distinctive style of architecture, Catalan Modernism. Marvel at the unique facades of Gaudi-designed houses (Casa Batlló and Milà, also known as La Pedrera). Discover the 'apple of discord' – the word 'manzana' (apple) also meaning 'block of houses' in Spanish.

  • PARK GÜELL:
This popular park and Modernist work of art towers over the vibrant bohemian neighborhood of Gràcia. Antoni Gaudí was inspired by the organic forms he found in nature, combining these with his unique style of architecture to create these truly dreamlike gardens, perfect for getting lost in. Discover narrow streets with undulating forms, like rivers of molten lava, covered by columns that are shaped like trees, stalactites and other geometric shapes.

  • THE EIXAMPLE:
Ildefons Cerdà designed this district after authorities approved his expansion plan in 1859. (“Eixample” is actually the Catalan word for expansion.) His idea of urbanism was revolutionary and utopian, which we can see as we walk the streets of this neighborhood.

  • WATERFRONT:vBarcelona's coast has always adapted to the time and needs of its people. Today, you can see the latest examples of its architecture, best represented by the World Trade Center and the converted Old Port. The latter is now full of excellent shops, restaurants, and nightclubs but it still retains a charming imprint of the past. Also along the waterfront, you will be able to see the Columbus Monument and the gorgeous Gothic building of Drassanes.

  • MONTJUÏC MOUNTAIN:
Originally known as a strategic place from which to defend the city from attack, Montjuïc Mountain rises beside the sea. From its summit you will enjoy spectacular views of Barcelona’s distinctive skyline. The mountain is also home to several buildings of modern and contemporary architecture, such as the sports facilities of the Olympic Ring and museums such as Miró Foundation and Caixa Forum. We will also find examples of urbanism and architecture specifically created for the International Exhibition of 1929.

  • OLD TOWN:
This is where the history of Barcelona started. Here, the Roman and medieval imprints of Barcelona’s past mixes beautifully with modernity right in the city center. You will learn about the origins of the city, along with fascinating Catalan traditions and culture. Within the Gothic Quarter, you will be able to enjoy several beautiful spaces, including Plaça Sant Jaume and the famous Cathedral.

First, enjoy the comfort of a private pick up service, offered by your guide at your accommodation in Barcelona and tour the city’s most emblematic landmarks in a private vehicle.
Get a panoramic perspective of our city, seeing the different faces of Barcelona: its architectural legacy, culture, and history.
Begin at Plaça Catalunya, the main square of the city. This bustling square connects directly to the avenue Passeig de Gràcia, home to the most distinctive examples of Catalan architecture. Here , admire some of the most impressive facades of private Modernist buildings, among them Antoni Gaudí´s masterpiece, La Pedrera. Explore the “Apple of Discord,” which includes Gaudí's Casa Batlló, but also the Casa Lleó - Morera and Casa Ametller.
After touring the highlights of Passeig de Gràcia, head to the bohemian Gràcia district to reach the amazing Park Güell. The park is located on a hill with spectacular views of Barcelona. In these gardens, Gaudí combined his peculiar style of architecture with the forms he found in nature. The result is a place of pure fantasy, sure to captivate your senses.
Follow the footsteps of the architect, walking through the neighborhood Eixample. This district was designed by Ildefons Cerdà as an extension of the city’s historical district, as part of an orderly expansion plan for the city. Drive through the streets to reach a spectacular work of Modernist art, the Hospital de Sant Pau. After, we will visit Gaudí’s masterpiece and perhaps the most emblematic structure of Barcelona, La Sagrada Familia. You may have seen some photos, but no matter what, your first experience in front of this grand basilica will leave you speechless.
Continue towards the Mediterranean Sea, passing the ´Plaza de Toros Monumental´ and the contemporary Agbar Tower, the newest reference point for Barcelona´s skyline. Reach Bogatell Beach, and enjoy a walk along the waterfront down to Port Vell (Old Port), the Gothic Drassanes and Columbus Monument, the iconic La Rambla and the brand new World Trade Center.
From the Mediterranean coast, continue to Montjuïc Mountain, where you will see the Mirador de l'Alcalde. This terrace offers spectacular views of Barcelona´s skyline. Montjuïc Mountain once served as the main venue for the 1992 Olympics. Take a moment to admire the Olympic Stadium, first built in 1929 and later remodeled for the Olympics. Discover several examples of urbanism and architecture, designed especially for the International Exhibition of 1929. These include Plaça Espanya, which was strongly influenced by St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
Beautiful highlights of this area also include The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc , The National Palace and the Mies Van der Rohe pavillion.
From the heights of the mountain, descend to Barcelona’s Old Town. Finish the day with a relaxed walking tour through the narrow, cobblestoned alleys and charming corners of the Gothic Quarter, discovering the imprints of the Roman and medieval city. Stop at the charming Cathedral Square to admire the magnificent Gothic Cathedral with its Gothic Revival façade, and then travel back in time to the origins of Barcelona in Plaça Sant Jaume, where the old forum was once located. Today this plaza is home to Barcelona’s City Hall.
Enjoy your day to the fullest with your guide’s undivided attention.
