The Christmas lights in the streets of Barcelona start coinciding with the black friday the last friday of November and it finish the January 6th. This year the lightning has been inaugurated on Thursday, November 23, at Rambla de Santa Mònica, as a tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack last August where 16 people died.

The bulbs of the Christmas lights in this city is of low consumption, because of that the municipal expenses aren’t high (apart from the fact that most of the Barcelona’s Christmas lightning is paid by the merchants associations of each neighborhood).

More than one hundred kilometers of streets are illuminated thanks to the merchants collaborations from the neighborhoods of Barcelona. The Agbar Tower (a characteristic building of Barcelona) offers a lighting show in the same horary that the Christmas lightning is active.

The lightning horary is:

-From Sunday to Wednesday, from 6 in the evening until 11 at night

-Thursdays, until 12 o’clock at night

-Friday and Saturday, until 1 in the morning
