For those of you who come to Barcelona with extra time to spend, one activity you can relax with is shopping! Barcelona is one of Europe’s best shopping spots with only Paris on top of the Catalonian city but there is one advantage to this… Barcelona is cheaper!

After visiting The Apple Discord and the Modernism movement  represented in the buildings, you can now walk through all of Passeig de Gracia and shop! This boulevard offers from medium to high end luxury clothe for him and for her. If what you are looking for is those shops that can’t be seen everywhere, in this iconic street you can find shops from famous designers Loewe, Louis Vuitton between many others. In Passeig de Gracia you can also find the best compliments for whatever you bought. Shops like Montblanc, Rolex, Swarovski and Tous are nearby so go take a look!

If you are more of an average shopper, don’t worry Passeig de Gracia still has to offer! Big multinational companies like Desigual, Guess and Lacoste fashion in this renown avenue.

Passeig de Gracia shares a junction with another of Barcelona’s famous streets, Diagonal.  This streets crosses Barcelona from North East to South West, and you will have many opportunities to stop and shop. Here you will find many up to fashion shops like Calvin Klein and yet again the high tier boutiques like Gucci and Armani. When you get to the bottom of Diagonal, you will arrive to one of Barcelona’s best shopping malls, L’Illa. There you will find shops of all kind to cover your necessities and desires.

 

Everybody has heard about Las Ramblas and if you have ever visited Barcelona you will have walked all along it. In all of the narrow streets perpendicular to the memorable boulevard you will find all kind of shops, from local designers to high end shops. But be aware of pick pockets and all the souvenir shops in the way.

Portal de L’Ángel is a great location if you do not want to move or walk too much in the intense heat.  H&M, Zara and Bershka are the type of shops you can walk around in. If you get tired of shopping around you can walk to the nearby Old Town  to learn about Barcelona’s long history spanning through centuries. Close by you will find Plaça Catalunya, with several shopping centers like El Corte Inglés and Media Market situated around the plaza.

Of course there are several more traditional location where you can buy everything you need. These are Barcelona’s legendary markets . Barcelona’s most famous market La Boqueria  is only centered around food products, but other markets like Mercat de Encants you can buy anything you need. In other markets like Fira de Nautumismo you can find rare objects at bargain price! If you want to buy local art to take backhome, go by Plaça Sant Josep local artist under the shadowy plaza every Saturday and Sunday. And now that you are in the Plaza, take the opportunity to walk around beautiful Old Town Barcelona and its small souvenir shops!
